Iam Michelle Tibble, Owner and Creator of CBT.
People always ask me how I got into this business and the long and short answer is that I love kids and art, and mostly…I fell into it. I’ve been drawing and singing since I can remember. I graduated from college with a BA in Musical Theater and one summer I got a job that required me to learn a circus skill. I learned balloon art and from there the world of balloons and performance came into my already artistic life.
I stay in Chicago because I have found such a wonderful career and community of actors and artists here. Some of my experiences include: performing with the Broadway National Tour of Mamma Mia!, 8+ years with “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” for schools and theaters in the Chicagoland area, Second City Conservatory graduate and ETC/Donny’s Sky Box improv performances, LA Comedy Festival, commercial work, theater performances with local and regional theaters, and teaching and performing both music and musical theater for infants through 18 years of age.
Through all of that, Balloon Art, Face Painting, and Variety Entertainment, has become a creative endeavor I genuinely enjoy! This business has become so much more to me then party fun and a side job. Helping people create an atmosphere, getting a reaction from a child when their favorite character comes to their birthday, seeing the joy from a person, both adult and child, who’s just been given a creation that they’ve never seen before. All of these things are what keep me in business and help me provide outstanding entertainment for your events!

The Dream Team
When Michelle's cloning machine turned out to be a bust, she decided to work with the community. CBT works with about a dozen local artists who all have at least 5 years of experience. We all come with decades of experience with kids and party planning, professional clean appearance, and way too much practice twisting latex and painting cartoons. :)
